The 1,283 water fountains of Zurich

Whenever I walk through Zurich I notice the water fountains. Fresh and clean water sparkles at almost every corner. No need to buy water in plastic bottles on a hot summer day. No need to take water with me when I go for a run. 1283 water fountains power the city of Zurich. It's fantastic.

I was curious to find out how many fountains there are and whether it is just a personal feeling that there are a lot or if data actually confirms that. Since Zurich has a great collection of open data, I was lucky enough to find what I was looking for. Geo coordinates of every single fountain!

Using standardized data set and geojson.io it took no time to visualize them on a map.
